Yes, we can – One identity, a Good Citizenship 2016

The project "yes we can – one identity, a good citizenship" is implemented by one of the beneficiaries of the Youth Empowerment Program, which expands for one year from 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2017.

The project is implemented in both Ma'an and Al Mafraq and targets civil society institutions and youth living there. In general, the project aims to improve the values and concept of democratic citizenship among youth.

 

More specific objectives:  

- Building necessary skills at the local community level among young people and civil society institutions, and contribute with increasing respect for human rights and democratic citizenship.

- Mobilizing youth efforts, to strengthen their understanding of civic education and their involvement in societal change.  

- Building the capacity of youth and civil society institutions to plan, develop, implement and follow up local youth projects that contribute to a change of the society.

 

Specific goals with the project:

- Strengthening democracy through capacity building, to support youth's participation in the political life.

- Building the necessary skills among youth at the local community level, to contribute to increase respect for the democratic rights and citizenship of young people.

- Strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations to support the mobilization of youth and their effort to defend human rights and democratic participation.   

- Strengthening the dialogue between youth and civil society, and local and national actors to strengthen young people's political rights.

- Raise awareness, participation and integration of youth and decision makers about youth participation, especially the marginalized youth.
