"Voice For Change" Project (2015)

The Arab Network for Civic Education is currently implementing "Voice for Change" project in Madaba Governorate with support and donation provided by Rosa Luxemburg-Palestine. The project aims at improved expertise, tools and practice of youth in Madaba in the area of citizenship participation, and Citizen Journalism. In addition, the project aims at achieving the following objectives:

  • To strengthen the capacity of youth to identify, reflect on, propose solutions and advocate on behalf of their disadvantaged peers and communities to improve life situations using human rights framework through creative media-alike initiatives.
  • To ensure, through increased participation, engagement and interaction of young activists and strengthened youth-led media actions, that the voice of youth activists is heard and taken into consideration in shaping democratic processes

 

Target group: The project will target 24 youth including males and females within the age group 19-35 from Madaba and the surrounding villages, in addition to 10 youth institutions in Madaba governorate

Activity of the Project:

  • Develop the toolkit and training materials on citizenship and citizen Journalism
  • Training workshop for 6 days for 24 youth on citizenship and citizen journalism in Madaba governorate
  • Local media actions (video reporting and text) produced by youth
  • Post training coaching and support (June 2015 - till the end of the project)
