Training Workshops to Build the Capacity of ANHRE Members

1. Three Regional Training of Trainers (TOT) Workshops held for 25 human rights educators from the region over the period of three years (2007-2009) followed by three sets of local training Activities implemented by the TOT participants after each workshop.

 

2. Three Human Rights education (HRE) workshops for Iraqi NGOs for about 25-30 participants from Iraq over the period of three years (2007-2009). These series of workshops are meant to enable Human Rights educators from Iraq to learn about basic Human Rights and essential elements of HRE. The third workshop was a Training of Trainer’s (TOT) followed by local training activities implemented by the participants in Iraq.

 

3. Regional Evaluation and Planning Sessions and Closing Evaluation Session (2007-2008) aiming to provide assistance in the planning of the forthcoming activities and workshops of the program including the content of the training and identification of selection criteria for participants.

 

4. Art of Networking and Strategic Planning Workshop was implemented during the period July 9th to 11th, 2009, Amman, Jordan. The workshop aimed to enable participants to develop a strategic plan for ANHRE network and to design a consistent framework and operation plan. The participants at the end of the workshop developed the draft strategic & operation plan.

 

5. Project Management Cycle Workshop, Dec. 20 to 26, 2009, Beirut, Lebanon, brought together 30 participants affiliated to ANHRE. The goal of the workshop was to build the capacities of the network’s coordinating body and leading members on project cycle management. The workshop mobilized the participants to work together in three regional projects that would fit with ANHRE’s strategic plan and objectives.

 

6. Advocacy Workshop, March 27-30 2011, Amman-Jordanaimed to develop participants' knowledge, attitudes and skills in advocacy mechanisms and coalition managing and campaigns strategic planning, as well as empowering participants to come out with a common strategic action plan and clear working mechanisms for Arab Campaign for Education for All (ACEA). The training workshop brought together 19 participants from Iraqi, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Sudan, Algeria and Yemen; 9 participants were ANHRE members who are at the same time members in the educational coalitions and 10 members from the educational coalitions.
