Luminus for Film and Media Industry launches "Express Yourself"

project in cooperation with, the Princess Basma Center and ANHRE. The project "Express Yourself, enhances the abilities of young people to identify and interact mainly in their societies in order to improve their living conditions, by using media and filmmaking and pursuing innovative initiatives.

 

The project targets 40 teachers and active youths and also 100 students between the ages of 15 and 24 in east Amman, and through videos reaching out to the matters that is important for the local communities.

The project consists of three basic stages: advocacy training and lobbying, filmmaking training and fieldwork for short film production. At the end of the project 20 short films will be produces that will reflect issues and social problems that are important for the young people in their local communities. The films will be uploaded on YouTube to make it easier to reach out to as many people as possible.

 

The first event of the project, held by ANHRE began with a training workshop on advocacy skills for teachers of the age of 25 and above. Another training was followed in which students were merged with teachers for filmmaking training, after dividing them into groups and deciding the subjects for the films, each group was given time and equipments for fieldwork and photography.

 

The project is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), through the USAID program to support civil society initiatives implemented by FHI 30.
