ANHRE is a Learning partner

ANHRE is a Learning partner to a new advocacy and social accountability funding mechanism of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) called Education Out Loud (EOL) for 5 years for Horn, Eastern, and southern Africa (HESA) and MENA regions

ANHRE had played the role of learning hub, coordination, mentor coaching and capacity building of the efforts of the NGO members and other CBOs, and NGOs as the main driving force of the change.

ANHRE is used to work as a Learning Hub through its regional office, pool of trainers and expertise, and its members to provide a safe, welcoming, enabling, and inspiring learning environment.

ANHRE relies on its regional Learning Partners network to provide excellent learning and support service and tools to our learners. ANHRE is very specialized in adaptive management and CLA maturity tool and mechanisms. ANHRE, as a learning partner, is used to: Engage in active collaboration with other key in-country partners; Hold regular pause and reflect moments to identify promising practices, overcome implementation obstacles, and address changing conditions; Use results to inform work plans and implementation; Define how innovative and dynamic learning agendas will be developed and implemented with youth and the Mission; Engage in periodic reflection activities using approaches such as after-action reviews to identify, capture, and act upon lessons learned in technical, cross-cutting, and management activities; Continuously assess if approaches and key assumptions are relevant to achieve the best results.

ANHRE is a Learning partner to a new advocacy and social accountability funding mechanism of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) called Education Out Loud (EOL) for 5 years for Horn, Eastern, and southern Africa (HESA) and MENA regions. EOL is the largest fund in the world dedicated to supporting the capacity building of civil society and enhancing their engagement in education policy processes. It is funded by GPE and managed by Oxfam IBIS as the grant agent. ANHRE is chosen to be the learning partner to EOL to support capacity building of Grantees/Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Horn, East and Southern Africa (generally Anglophone Africa) and specifically in the following countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), Lesotho, Malawi, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Yemen. Through this partnership, ANHRE made a tremendous effort to strengthen learning and activate the learning agenda through all partners; for example, ANHRE supported disaster risk reduction and disaster risk management in the implementation of the program. ANHRE was able to strengthen the capacity of Partners in Disaster Risk Reduction in Conflict and Emergency Situations and assess and enhance their ability to facilitate the analysis, design, facilitation, and measurement of disaster responses and mitigation strategies.  Also, we conducted a study on the application of Adaptive Management (AM). This study aimed at assessing EOL grantees’ understanding of adaptive management in programming as a risk mitigation strategy, its application to improve project implementation strategies, and whether it has provided opportunities for learning and making recommendations on how the application of adaptive management can be improved in the implementation of the EOL project. The target group comprised of EOL grantees who have implemented any of three Operational Components of Education Out Loud (EOL) program in the past three years (2020-2022) as well as the HESA Regional Management Unit of Oxfam Ibis in Uganda.
