Launching conference for the Education for All Global Action Week 2024

The Arab Network for Civic Education-ANHRE and the Jordanian Coalition for Education for All hold the launch conference of the Global Action Week for Education for All 2024 Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Azmi Al-Akram governorate, and in cooperation with the human rights unit of the prime minister, the Arab Network for Civic Education-ANHRE and the Jordanian Coalition for Education for All launched the World Education Action Week for 2024 in Amman on May 22, 2023, under the slogan "transformational building social justice, peace, and sustainable development", where the launch conference of the week in Jordan was attended by His Excellency the minister of education and a number of departments concerned with planning and supervision from the Jordanian Ministry of education and the prime Arabic education A large number of researchers and educational experts, in addition to youth groups interested in education and a number of national institutions. World Education Action Week is an annual campaign organized by the global campaign for education for all around the world to raise awareness of the importance of education for all. The Global Education Action Week is a key moment for the global education movement, in which every year countries from all over the world gather students, teachers, parents, decision-makers, activists, and civil society organizations to demand action for quality education for all. Ms. Fattouh Younis, executive director of the Arab Network forCivic Educationn (ANHRE), pointed out that this year's Global Action Week focuses on the theme of transformative education. It aims to advocate for the inclusion of transformative education as a key topic on the agenda of the future summit, highlight the diverse perspectives of Children, Youth, and adults on transformative education, hold government and other decision-makers accountable for transformative education, and make commitments to the Education TransformationMs. Fattouh Younis, executive director of the Arab Network for Civic Education (ANHRE), pointed out that this year's Global Action Week focuses on the theme of transformative education. Dr. Khalil al-Abdallat, director of the human rights unit at the prime minister's office, said that education is a fundamental right that should not be infringed, and it is the responsibility of all states and governments. In Jordan, we reaffirm our firm commitment to the realization of this right for all without discrimination, believing that it is the only way to achieve social justice and equality among members of society. "We are working hard in Jordan to provide high-quality education to all, including the most vulnerable and marginalized groups. We believe in the importance of education in enabling individuals to realize their full potential and participate effectively in building their communities." He pointed out that the transformation of education is no longer just an option, but has become an urgent necessity to keep pace with the requirements of modern times and achieve sustainable progress in our societies. The conference included a special session entitled "Strengthening Partnerships and Collective Solidarity towards the Commitment to Transform Education" to ensure the implementation of the strategic plan of the Jordanian Ministry of Education and this requires greater contributions from all stakeholders to support and investment in education with the openness of the Ministry of education towards cooperation and solidarity to ensure the right to education.
